The Platts quotations for gasoline and diesel fuel continue decreasing and pump fuel prices in Moldova decline correspondingly. For November 30, the National Agency for Energy Regulation set the price ceiling for gasoline COR 95 at 24.86 lei/liter, while for standard diesel fuel at 24.92 lei/liter, IPN reports.
On Monday, the Brent quotations fell to the lowest level so far this year. According to foreign analysts, among the reasons for the decline are the large-scale anti-lockdown protests staged in Chinua last weekend, the expectations of the next OPEC+ meeting set for December 4 and the negotiations held by the EU to introduce a price ceiling for Russian oil. The past month, the Platts quotations decreased to 900 $/tonne of diesel fuel and to 830 $/tonne of gasoline and pump prices for the two types of fuels could be this way decreased to under 25 lei/liter, said the national energy regulator.
The Agency assures the Moldovan consumers that the fuels are sold at correct pump prices that are determined in accordance with the current methodology and are adjusted to the realities of the day. The prices of oil products are influenced only by the developments on the international market and oil companies are unable to intervene in the process of setting fuel prices.
