Prices have fallen about 3% this year

The consumer price index has decreased by 2.9% since the start of the year. At the same time, in September the prices were by 0.6% higher than in August, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the National Bureau of Statistics. The 0.6% rise in the average consumer prices was determined by the 1.2% increase in the prices of food products and the 0.6% increase in the prices of nonfood products. The prices of services fell by 0.6%. Compared with August, the price of dietary eggs in September rose by 13.3%, of sugar by 8.7%, of fresh vegetables by 6.5%, of fish, fish products and citrus fruit by 2.8%. The price of apples and pears decreased by 7.7%, of potatoes by 6.2%, of onion by 5.3%. Drugs in September grew dearer by 1.8%, while fuel by 1.3%. The charges for supplying natural gas through centralized networks fell by 6.7%, the cable television charges by 1.4%, the prices in the public food sector by 0.5%. The prices of services in education increased by 4.8%, the water and sewerage charges by 4.7%, the prices of ritual services by 3.4%, of taxi services by 2.7%.
