After decreasing for a long period, the price of COR 95 gasoline started to grow. During the next three days, gasoline will be sold for 22.36 lei/liter, by 0.07 lei more than on Friday. The price of standard diesel fuel remains stable for now, at 19.06 lei/liter, IPN reports.

According to the National Agency for Energy Regulation, the low level of pump prices in the last ten weeks was due to the decrease in Platts quotations and the sharp appreciation of the national currency against the dollar. Now, however, a slight change is seen in both Platts quotations and the leu/dollar exchange rate.

“This fact in the next period can lead to price recovery. Therefore, after a cumulative decrease for COR 95 gasoline of 3.04 lei/liter and for standard diesel fuel of 2.91 lei/liter, this week the price of gasoline has recovered 0.04 lei, while diesel fuel continues to be sold at the lowest price in the last 16 months,” the Agency noted in a press release.

It assured that it will continue to closely follow the developments on international oil exchanges, and that the current fuel price calculation mechanism is transparent and guarantees maximum accuracy.
