The 14th debate held on March 25 mainly featured representatives of Moldovan extra-parliamentary parties, and namely: Daniela Bodrug, vice president of the Antimafia People's Movement Party; Anatolie Prohniţchi, president of the Green Party; Ion Duminică, vice president of the Roma Sociopolitical Movement; Vasile Costiuc, president of the Community Party “Democracy at Home”, and the Project's permanent expert Igor Boţan, who is also director of the Association for Participatory Democracy ADEPT.

The rationale for inviting extra-parliamentary parties separately from parliamentary ones was to avoid reciprocal accusations between the two political segments and stimulate constructive discussions on the views and role of extra-parliamentary parties in overcoming the political crisis through a responsible and competent communication with society and parliamentary parties. Overall, this objective was achieved, yet part of the debate was still wasted on slating against the government.

Some speakers, like the Green Party' president Anatolie Prohniţchi, said that the ongoing political crisis is due to the politicians’ irresponsibility. He added that no method of dialogue with society has been worked out yet in Moldova, because the politicians do not need it, while the voters should change their behavior, make demands and be more vocal in expressing their dissatisfaction.

Daniela Bodrug,
vice president of the Antimafia People's Movement Party, said the political crisis appeared after a piece fell from the “mafiotic system” created by the former alliance, referring to prosecutor general Valeriu Zubco. “It was known from the very beginning that this alliance will not work out, as it was formed based on financial, personal and mafiotic interests, not on national interests”.

According to
Ion Duminică, vice president of the Roma Sociopolitical Movement, the Moldovan voters’ political culture is very low. “Society stop playing the role of a beggar, but should penalize the politicians for the unfulfilled promises and the created situation.”

“If the people do not penalize the politicians by vote, it means that we learned nothing. The young people and the students follow with admiration what Plahotniuc and Filat do. The virus spreads from university to university and there is no guarantee that those who come next are any better”, said
Vasile Costiuc, president of the Community Party “Democracy at Home”.

According to Igor Boţan, the Project's permanent expert, the ongoing crisis cannot be overcome by creating a new coalition as its components are no longer credible to the people. He thinks that early elections do not represent a solution either as there are persons with unlimited resources, administrative leverage and mass media resources who can influence the election outcome. The only solution, the expert believes, is for those who discredited themselves to step aside.
