The Press Council of Moldova will request the Press Council of Russia to examine the feature about Moldova broadcast by “Pervyi Kanal” (“First Channel”) on June 29, IPN reports.
The feature informed that the Moldovan authorities allowed firing at participants in demonstrations mounted by those who do not want in the EU.
The information was broadcast in the program “Voskresnoe vremea” (“Sunday time”) that is retransmitted in Moldova by ICS “General Media Group” SRL.
The Press Council will analyze the feature to see if it meets the international deontological journalistic norms and the recommendations of European and international organizations of journalists.
The Council will also ask that the Russian Press Council examine this case from the angle of the Journalist’s Code of Ethics and the Charter of TV and Radio Broadcasters of Russia.
