Moldova’s President-elect Maia Sandu had telephone discussions with the President of Romania Klaus Iohannis and the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky. Her counterparts congratulated her on the victory scored in elections. The President of Russia Vladimir Putin also sent his congratulations to Maia Sandu, IPN reports.
“Maia Sandu received the warmest congratulations on her victory in the presidential elections and thanked President Iohannis for all the brotherly and unconditional support provided by Romania to the Moldovan citizens in time. When she takes up as President, Maia Sandu will be making concerted effort to restore and strengthen the relations with Romania,” says a press release of the PAS.
Maia Sandu also had a telephone conversation with Volodymyr Zelenski. “Maia Sandu was sincerely congratulated on her victory in the presidential elections. While holding office of President, Maia Sandu will be making concerted effort to strengthen the relations with Ukraine both bilaterally and at regional level. Maia Sandu wished good health to President Zelensky and thanked him for his readiness to develop a partnership beneficial to the citizens of the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine,” runs the press release.
A congratulatory message was also transmitted by the President of Russian Vladimir Putin. “I hope you presidency will contribute to the development of constructive relations between our states. This fact will definitely be in accordance with the interests of the people of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Moldova,” says the Russian President’s message. He wished Maia Sandu success, good health and welfare.
