The threshold for validating the presidential election in the Republic of Moldova was reached. About 953,000 electors or 33.3% of those put on electoral lists voted by around 02:30 p.m. In the 2020 presidential election, the validation threshold was reached at close to 04:00 p.m., IPN reports.

According to data of the Central Election Commission, about 215,000 citizens voted in the municipality of Chisinau, which is a turnout of about 33%. In the municipality of Balti, the participation rate exceeded 31%, and in the municipality of Cahul it passed 27%. In ATU Gagauzia, the voter turnout was higher than 30%.

The ratio of women to men among voters nationwide was 53.8% to 46.2%.

As for the turnout at the national constitutional referendum, the data is collected from the electoral offices of polling stations and the reporting is performed manually, by counting the signatures on electoral lists and sending the data by phone and email. Therefore, the data are presented with delay. By 12 noon, 442,331 people or 16.14% of the electors voted in the referendum. Updated data will be provided by the CEC at 04:00 p.m..

Polls close at 09:00 p.m. If necessary, the voting deadline can be extended by two hours.
