The presidential advisor on political matters Marc Tkaciuk has been fired. President Vladimir Voronin inked a due decree on October 15, Info-Prim Neo reports. Marc Tkaciuk will be dismissed on October 16, 2008, in connection with passing to another job. His position will be occupied by Sergiu Stati, former ambassador to Ukraine. According to Info-Prim Neo's correspondent, the Government endorsed the recall of Sergiu Stati, in its Wednesday's session, and backed the presidential decree on appointing Nicolae Gumenai as ambassador to Ukraine. Nicolae Gumenai has been the chief of the Government chancellery, and headed the Privatization Department and the Customs Service earlier. The Cabinet has backed Petru Railean to be a judge with the Constitutional Court for a 6-year term. He has been the chairman of the Economic Court of Appeals.
