The presidential administration has denied the authenticity of the statements that President Maia Sandu allegedly made in a discussion with the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shymal, IPN reports.
“The video is an attempt to engage President Maia Sandu in a deepfake manipulation. The statements presented in this fake video do not correspond to the reality, being an image and sound trick,” the President’s Office noted in a press release.
The video disseminated in the public sphere shows the President staying that the state is ready to announce a mobilization and that she is having discussions on the issue with Romania.
