President Voronin returns to subject of national identity

On Thursday, February 22, President of Moldova Vladimir Voronin met with a group of representatives of the Moldovan Community in Romania headed by its president Alexa Claudiu. According to the presidential press service, the interlocutors discussed aspects of the activity of the newly-constituted organisation, its aims and objectives. The meeting participants addressed the issue of Moldovans’ identity and spoke about the opportunity of implementing joint projects in the cultural sphere. The representatives of the Moldovan Community in Romania voiced hope they would have a fruitful collaboration with the Moldovan authorities for the purpose of achieving the set objectives and consolidating the cooperation between Moldova and Romania in different areas.
