President Vladimir Voronin is disatissfied with the situation of the seek leaves and payment of allowances labour capacity loss, requiring to government to draft a bill of changing the national legislation and to present it as soon as possible to be adopted by the parliament. According to president press service, Vladimir Voronin convoked a meeting in order to discuss the necessity to create appropriate mechanism for economic interest of employers to take under control the process of payment of allowances for temporary labour incapacity and providing seek leaves. Participants at the meeting mentioned that the opportunity to take the experience of certain European states, including Romania, which legislation stipulates partly cover by employers of the expenses for seek leaves of employees. The president underlined the importance of setting a strict control over providing the seek leaves and not to allow fakes during this process, a decision role in this sense has the Ministry oh Health and Social Protection. Participants to discussions, among them deputy prime minister Valerian Cristea, minister of Health and Social Protection Ion Ababii, representatives of the Parliament, government and president noted that the increasing trend of the expenses for allowances for temporary labour incapacity a is determined in great part by the quality of the legislation in this field. The number of case and days of the seek leave increase, and the legal framework does not stimulate the economic interest of employers and staffs to decrease the losses related to seek cases. In the same time, the president underlined the need to respect labour security and hygiene, to create appropriate conditions for workers and to reduce dangerous and unfavourable factors at the workplace. It is necessary for this, he said, to amend the legislation as soon as possible. According to data presented at the meeting, the costs of paying the allowances for temporary labour incapacity and seek leaves increased in 2005 about 237 million lei, or about 40% , compared to 2004.
