President to pay official visit to Sweden

On April 17-19, President Vladimir Voronin will be on an official visit to the Kingdom of Sweden.
According to a press release from the presidential office, the Moldovan president will meet with His Majesty King Carl XVI Gustaf, with the speaker of Swedish Parliament, Per Westerberg, and with the Swedish foreign minister, Carl Bildt.
The visit agenda also includes the meeting of Voronin and Goran Lennmarker, the Chairman of the Standing Committee on Constitutional Affairs of Sweden together with its members; with Per Unckel, County Governor of Stockholm; with Gunilla Carlsson, Minister International Development Cooperation.
The Moldovan President will also participate in the works of the “Globe Forum” reunion that is to take part on April 18, in Stockholm. Vladimir Voronin will deliver speeches at the opening of the forum and at the Moldovan wine exhibition. During this visit Voronin will also meet with Vaira Vike-Freiberga, President of Latvia.
The Head of the State will visit Sweden along with the minister of Foreign Affairs, the minister of Economy and Commerce, of Ecology and Natural Resources and with the director of the Agro-Industrial Agency „Moldova-Vin” and the chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The delegation will also have as members nearly 15 Moldovan businessmen, media representatives from M-1 and NIT television channels, as well as reporters from “Nezavisimaia Moldova” newspaper and “Moldpres” news agency.
On Thursday, April 19 the official delegation will return to Chisinau.
