President to hold consultations with parliamentary groups

President Nicolae Timofti scheduled consultations with the parliamentary groups this week. In a press briefing, the President’s spokesman Vlad Turcanu said that the leaders of the parliamentary factions were already informed and gave their consent to holding discussions with the head of state so as to identify a candidate for the post of Premier. According to Vlad Turcanu, the President voiced hope that the consultations will take place as soon as possible so that a candidate can be put forward next week. The program of the consultations will be set later. The Filat Government fell in a no confidence vote in Parliament on March 5. In three days, the Cabinet resigned.
