President signs decree to amend agreement between Moldova and EU on facilitation of visa issuing

Acting President Marian Lupu issued a decree on the initiation of talks on the draft accord between Moldova and the European Union on the amendment of the agreement between Moldova and the EU on the facilitation of visa issuing, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the legislative body. The agreement on the facilitation of visa issuing was signed in Brussels on October 10, 2007 and came into force on January 1, 2008. By another decree, Marian Lupu promulgated the law with amendments to article 18 of the law on allowances for temporary incapacity at work and other social benefits. Under the old article, the persons were entitled to childcare allowances of 30% of the calculation base, but not less than 300 lei and only by the end of 2010. The amendments eliminated the norm application limit and extended the period until the end of 2011. The costs will amount to over 300 million lei, calculated for 35,461 beneficiaries. The expenses for 2011 are projected to total 48.77 million lei.
