For its part, the presidential administration of Romania said that representatives from all the 12 countries participating in the Initiative will attend the high-level event. This will also involve the strategic partners of the Three Seas Initiative (3SI) – the United States, the European Commission, and Germany – and also a series of special invitees. Among the participants will also be representatives of important international organizations, such as the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the European Investment Bank, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, the International Monetary Fund, and the World Bank.

On September 7, the Government of Romania, under the high patronage of the President of Romania Klaus Iohannis, will stage a new edition of the Three Seas Initiative Business Forum. In this, the Romanian leader will present the results of Romania’s chairmanship of the 3SI (June 2022- September 2023), which will also be included in the Joint Statement of the Summit which will be adopted at the end of the discussions.

“This will be an impotent benchmark for the future activities of the 3SI concerning the action directions for developing crossborder interconnections in the field of transport infrastructure, energy and digitization and for strengthening and diversifying the financial instruments of the Initiative. Through the adoption of the Statement of Bucharest, Greece will become the 13th state participating in the Initiative, while Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova will be granted the status of associated participating states to the 3SI,” said the Romanian presidential administration.
