President Sandu goes on working visit to Romania Thursday

President Maia Sandu will be paying a working visit to Romania on Thursday. While in Bucharest, the Moldovan official will raise such issues as the bilateral cooperation, the security situation in the country and the European course of the Republic of Moldova, IPN reports.

According to the Moldovan presidential press service, the visit is made on the invitation of the President of Romania Klaus Iohannis. The delegation includes Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Nicu Popescu.

“The political consultations of Presidents Klaus Iohannis and Maia Sandu form part of the comprehensive framework of the close bilateral and European cooperation and of the clear and firm support of Romania for the Republic of Moldova and for its resilience. In the discussions, there will be debated common projects of strategic interest in such areas as energy, transport, health, education or information society, with emphasis on the initiatives designed to connect the Republic of Moldova to the space of the European Union, with real and concrete benefits for the citizens of the Republic of Moldova. There will also be discussed Romania’s support for the European course of the Republic of Moldova,” said the Romanian presidential administration.

The two officials will also confer on the security threats and on methods of managing the economic, social and humanitarian effects of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine.
