President Maia Sandu and ambassadors accredited to the Republic of Moldova had discussions centering on the latest events that took place in Chisinau. The official informed the diplomats that she signed a decree to dissolve Parliament in the evening of April 28, offering this way the citizens the possibility of electing a legislative body that will represent them, IPN reports, quoting the presidential press service.
“I was glad to notice an increased interest of the representatives of the diplomatic corps in the present and, especially, in the future of the Republic of Moldova. I simultaneously thanked the countries that during the last week expressed their support for the rule of law and for the democratic institutions in the Republic of Moldova,” said Maia Sandu.
The official also reiterated Moldova’s commitment to continue on the European path.
“I thanked all the states that were near us during this pandemic year and we agreed to organize such meetings on a regular basis. It is an element that helps us to keep our finger on the pulse of the bilateral relations and to intensify cooperation,” noted President Sandu.
The diplomats transmitted messages of encouragements to the Republic of Moldova, wishing success in overcoming the political and pandemic crises.
