President of Romanian Senate comes to Chisinau

The President of the Senate of Romania Crin Antonescu will pay an official visit to Moldova on December 4-5, at the invitation of Head of Parliament Igor Corman, with whom he will have a meeting. Crin Antonescu will also meet with President Nicolae Timofti and Prime Minister Iurie Leanca, IPN reports.

According to a communiqué from the legislature’s press service, the President of the Romanian Senate will have meetings with Moldovan MPs, members of the joint commission for European integration between the Parliament of Moldova and the Parliament of Romania, and Minister of Education Maia Sandu. At the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, Crin Antonescu will meet with representatives of the scientific community and will take part in a lecture themed “European Union – our common home”.

He will also make a donation of computers to Transnistrian schools. Igor Corman and Crin Antonescu will hold a joint press briefing.

The delegation that will accompany Crin Antonescu to Chisinau includes Vice President of the Senate Florin Constantinescu, who is the co-chairman of the joint commission for European integration between the Parliament of Moldova and the Parliament of Romania, member of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of Romania Florin Alexe, deputy secretary general of the Senate Dan Mihalache, and director general of the Chancellery of the Senate’s President Nicoleta Nicolae-Ioana.
