The President of Lithuania Gitanas Nauseda will make an official visit to the Republic of Moldova during May 13-14. In Chisinau, the Lithuanian official will have a meeting with President Maia Sandu. The presidential press service said the visit will be paid at the invitation of President Sandu, IPN reports.
The discussions between the two Presidents will focus on the opportunities for diversifying and extending the bilateral relations and on the development of the relations between the Republic of Moldova and the European Union, Lithuania being a consistent supporter of Moldova’s European integration objectives and the reforms stipulated in the Association Agreement with the EU.
At the end of the visit, Maia Sandu and Gitanas Nauseda will plant by a tree in the Botanical Garden of Chisinau as a symbolic gesture of Moldova’s aligning with the EU’s environmental policy to raise the population’s awareness of ecological problems.
This is the first visit that will be paid by a President of Lithuania to the Republic of Moldova in the past six years. Details about the program will be provided in the nearest future.
