President Nicolae Timofti has been operated this morning, the presidential press service has said.
The head of state underwent surgery for colecisititis, on the gall bladder, at the National Hospital of the Curative-Sanatorium Association of the State Chancellery, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The presidential press service said the operation went smooth and was performed by a group of doctors led by professor and academician Vladimir Hotineanu.
Nicolae Timofti’s state of health is now stable. The head of state will remain in the hospital for several days to recover.
