President of Moldova Nicolae Timofti received the National Oder “Star of Romania”, awarded by a decree signed by Romanian President Klaus Iohannis. The award was handed over by Romania’s Ambassador in Chisinau Daniel Ionita, IPN reports.
The award was conferred on Nicolae Timofti in gratitude for his personal contribution to developing the relations of friendship and cooperation between Romania and the Republic of Moldova, for the support for the democratic and European course of Moldova.
At the beginning of this year, Nicolae Timofti signed a decree to confer the Order of the Republic on President Klaus Iohannis. The highest state award of Moldova was given in profound gratitude for the special contribution to developing and strengthening the relations of friendship and cooperation between Romania and Moldova and for the constant support for Moldova’s European integration efforts.
