“Together we must stop this attempt to usurp the power,” President-elect Maia Sandu stated in an address on the public TV channel Moldova 1. The politician said the current Parliament must leave as it acts against the people. “The current Parliament does not include 51 responsible MPs with whom a government for the people could be formed,” noted Maia Sandu, being quoted by IPN.
The President-elect said the people do not have places in hospitals, the doctors are close to their limit, an increasing number of people cannot repay the debts, the pensioners do not have money for food and wood, the farmers are desperate owing to the consequences of drought, the small entrepreneurs do not manage to save their businesses. The situation in the country is serious. Meanwhile, shameful things happen in Parliament.
“A new PSRM-Shor parliamentary majority was formed these days. This respects neither the law nor the people. Desperate that they lost the elections, for fear that they will have to answer for the wrongdoings they committed, the Socialists formed the PSRM-Shor alliance so as to be able to adopt the laws that would enable them to continue stealing unpunished,” stated Maia Sandu.
The leader of the Party of Action and Solidarity said the PSRM-Shor majority voted in Parliament in a hurry a number of anti-popular laws, by violating the parliamentary norms and the Constitution.
“The budget law adopted yesterday during three minutes, without any debate, does not include sufficient funds for helping the sections in need, the doctors, the farmers and small entrepreneurs. The law that allows withdrawing the SIS from the President’s scrutiny means reduction of the powers of the elected President. The people said they want a President who would fight against the thieves, especially those from Parliament. The SIS is not the hand baggage of Dodon. The SIS is the institution that enables the President to realize their mandate. My mandate is to fight corruption. They want to remove all traces and to hide all files,” stated Maia Sandu.
She also said that the PAS filed a challenge to the Constitutional Court and will demand to annul all the anti-popular laws that the PSRM-Shor alliance votes in breach of the Constitution.
“Together we must stop this attempt to usurp the power. The people demand snap elections. We will do what the people demand. On December 6 at 11 am, we will stage a Consultation with the People in the Great National Assembly Square. This Sunday we will take to the streets to stop the attempt to usurp the power,” stated Maia Sandu.
