President-elect Maia Sandu had a telephone discussion with Prime Minister Ion Chicu. The politician told him that the country needs another Parliament and another Government, noting that the Cabinet’s resignation is the shortest path to the achievement of this objective, IPN reports.
“I told him that the budget presented by the Cabinet cannot help the people. On the contrary, it contains schemes based on which the corrupt MPs will continue to get gains,” Maia Sandu posted on Facebook.
According to the Government’s press service, the Premier fully shares the President-elect’s opinion that the current Parliament should be urgently dissolved.
“In the discussion, Prime Minister Chicu respectfully asked all the political forces in Parliament to thoroughly examine the draft budgetary-fiscal policy as he is convinced that the President-elect realizes very well the risks of entering the new year without an adopted budget. The Government is ready to provide arguments and explanations on any of the figures included in the bills in Parliament. Any amendment of the MPs will be examined and approved by the Government, while the MPs will decide the final text of these laws,” says the press release.
