President Igor Dodon asked that the Government and the Ministry of Defense should repair the facilities that form part of the Memorial Complex “Eternity” that they manage. The Head of State inspected the complex following a number of petitions he received, IPN reports.

According to the presidential press service, most of the components of the complex are in a disastrous state and pose a threat to the health and life of visitors. “Given that this monument is a facility of national importance and that May 9 is approaching, I demand that all the technical and esthetic standards at this complex should be ensured so that the events dedicated to the Victory Day take place safely there,” stated President Dodon.

If money is not found in the state budget, the President is decided to launch a social campaign to collect funds to extensively repair the memorial.

The Memorial Complex “Eternity” was inaugurated in 1975. The last time it was renovated in 2006.
