President Igor Dodon said on July 9 he will take part in the ceremony to inaugurate the President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, while on July 13 or 14 he will have a meeting with the President of Russia Vladimir Putin. The announcement was made in a news conference given by the Head of State to present the results achieved by him during his presidency so far, IPN reports.

“I received today the invitation to take part in the inauguration of Mister Erdoğan on July 9 and I will take part in this event. I was also invited to take part in the final of the FIFA World Cup in Moscow, but I will also have an official meeting with Mister Putin on July 13 or 14 there,” stated Igor Dodon. He noted he will invite the President of Turkey to come to Moldova to participate in the inauguration of the Presidential Building that has been repaired with Turkish funds.

In another development, the President said the Government places obstacles in his path at foreign level. Most of the approaches he made to his foreign counterparts or other officials were blocked by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration. He was issued with an invitation to pay a visit to France in November by President  Emmanuel Macron, but he learned about this from the ambassador of France in a meeting, even if the invitation was transmitted to the Ministry.

“Do you see what goal is pursued? To block the President of the Republic of Moldova at foreign level. Something like this wasn’t witnessed before,” noted Igor Dodon.

He added that he made 27 working and official visits abroad since he was invested one year and a half ago. He also had 17 meetings with Heads of State. “As I promised, I paid the first official visit to Moscow. The second visit was made to Brussels as I consider a balance should be established in our external relations,” stated President Dodon.
