The main steps taken after the current government took over and the priorities of this were discussed in a meeting convoked by President Igor Dodon on July 12. The meeting involved Prime Minister Maia Sandu, Parliament Speaker Zinaida Grechanyi, other Cabinet members and MPs of the Socialist group. Igor Dodon informed about this by a post on his Facebook page, IPN reports.
President Dodon said the executive’s efforts centered on the solving of pressing problems inherited from the former government.
He wrote that they discussed the executive’s and the ruling alliance’s priorities for the next few weeks, including the necessity of amending the state budget, particular social actions aimed at increasing the level of social protection, the situation in the economic, energy and other important sectors.
Igor Dodon noted that meetings in such a format will be held regularly so as to ensure efficient cooperation between the government and the parliamentary majority.
