President Igor Dodon will pay an official visit to Brussels on February 6-7, 2016. On January 24, he had a meeting with the EU Ambassador in Chisinau Pirkka Tapiola, where he accepted the invitation to make the visit, IPN reports.
According to the presidential press service, President Dodon will have a series of meetings with the administration of the European Commission and the Council of the European Union and with other EU high-ranking officials.
“I also asked for a meeting with the NATO administration. We will discuss the bilateral relations, implementation of the Association Agreement with the EU and the shortcomings and drawbacks witnessed after two years of implementation. I handed over the draft Memorandum of Cooperation between the Eurasian Economic Commission and the Republic of Moldova, which I want to be signed with the Eurasian Union and which does not run counter to the Association Agreement with the EU, to the ambassador,” said the Head of State.
“Moldova must maintain good relations with the EU, establish a strategic partnership with the Russian Federation and cooperate both with the East and the West in the interests of the Moldovan citizens.”
