President Igor Dodon addressed a congratulatory message to Vladimir Putin on the occasion of his reelection as President of Russia on March 18. In a message posted on Facebook, the President said that today Russia, with Vladimir Putin as President, became a symbol of hope for all the nations that plead for stability in all the regions of the world, for sovereign internal and external policy and for the traditional values, IPN reports.
“Vladimir Putin presented himself as a big friend of the Republic of Moldova. By his direct participation and with his support, very important agreements between our states concerning the opening up of the Russian market for Moldovan companies and migration amnesty for tens of thousands of Moldovans who work in Russia have been obtained,” said Igor Dodon.
He expressed his conviction that the largest part of the Russians citizens living in Moldova voted for Putin. “On this occasion, I would like to confirm that the Republic of Moldova is interested in furthering and developing the strategic partnership with the Russian Federation, based on good and friendly historical relations that were established in time by our states and peoples,” stated President Dodon.
In the March 18 presidential election of Russia, Vladimir Putin won over 76% of the poll, being voted by about 56 million people.
