President of the Republic of Moldova Nicolaie Timofti convokes tomorrow, June 29, the Supreme Security Council meeting, to examine the security of the banking system. National Bank governor Dorin Dragutanu, Minister of Finance Veaceslav Negruta, Prosecutor General Valeriu Zubco, and deputy director of the Service for Information and Security Valentin Dediu will present reports at the meeting, reports Info-Prim Neo. “To the President’s knowledge, the State’s institutions did not take enough measures to prevent certain bank frauds, did not prosecute those who organized the so-called raider attacks and illegally obtained bank stocks”, declared the President’s spokes person Vlad Turcanu in press release, on Thursday. Nicolaie Timofti said that if the administrative, normative, and legislative measures taken turn out to have been inefficient, he will ask for an adjustment of the legislative and normative staff, and of the judicial practice with the goal of creating an adequate judicial base regarding the banks’ stockholders and for the improvement of the local judicial institutions. The meeting will take place at 8am at the State Residence on Nicolae Iorga Street.
