Premier’s Economic Council takes stock of promoted projects

The number of documents in the process of clearing goods decreased from nine to three in the case of export operations and from eleven to three in the case of import operations. This is one of the projects aimed at improving the business environment that was brought into focus by the Prime Minister’s Economic Council. According to the Council, this simplification allowed the economic entities to save about 55 million lei, which was spent on bureaucratic procedures and useless documents.

According to a communique quoted by IPN, among the efforts made by the Council was to obtain the publication of the set of data about company founders in Moldova, including the names of the founders of 200,000 companies. The initiative has a powerful corruption and influence peddling prevention component and a component aimed at saving about 4.4 million lei a year.

Another accomplishment is the launch of electronic reporting to the National Bureau of Statistics. Currently, 1,500 companies report online. Among other results are the simplification of the business registration procedure and ensuring of greater transparency in the financing possibilities enjoyed by companies. On the portal finantare.gov.md, there are 33 business financing schemes to the value of €500 million.

Owing to the measures taken by the Economic Council during the last two years, the entrepreneurs saved about 87 million lei, which represented useless costs.

The Prime Minister’s Economic Council was created in December 2012 with the support of the EBRD. Its activity is supported by the secretariat that is responsible for the promotion and monitoring of the decisions taken by the Council.
