Prime Minister Vlad Filat should not fear that the package of legal system reforms will not be adopted. The legislature will support these reforms because they are beneficial to society, Head of Parliament and Acting President of Moldova Marian Lupu told the press, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. “I'm sure that these fears of the Premier are groundless. There is nothing that he should be afraid of. Moreover, the fact that those reforms were adopted by Parliament by the unanimous vote of the coalition points to the seriousness and responsibility of the three components of the alliance,” said the Speaker. Marian Lupu stated that a number of steps are being prepared to help the Premier in this respect. According to him, society now expects not only expressions of concern and fear, but deeds. “I want to assure you that all the real, systemic and well thought out reforms will find support in Parliament,” he said. He also said that there are no reasons for fear, but it is time to take action. “We will be expecting the bills to enter Parliament. All the partners of the alliance will propose measures that can help promote the related amendments to the legislation,” said Marian Lupu. In an interview for Radio Free Europe, Prime Minister Vlad Filat said that if the Government does not find political support in Parliament, in particular in promoting the reform of the legal system, he is ready to resign.
