Premier Recean invites Japanese companies to invest in Moldova

Prime Minister Dorin Recean highlighted the importance of realizing the potential of economic cooperation between the Republic of Moldova and Japan, reiterating the country’s interest in attracting new Japanese investments. “The Government is building the necessary infrastructure and conditions for entrepreneurs who come to invest in the Republic of Moldova. We are a safe country for the development of prosperous businesses. We offer access to the European Union market and we work to make business doing as simple and profitable as possible,” the official stated in a meeting with Vice Minister for International Affairs of the Ministry of Finance of Japan Masato Kanda, who is on a working visit to Chisinau.

Premier Recean appreciated the consistent support that Japan has gives to the Republic of Moldova over the years, which helps the country to achieve the goal of increasing the people’s quality of life. In this regard, he emphasized the cooperation in the agricultural and health sectors, as well as other sectors that are key for the country’s modernization.

The officials also referred to cooperation in the field of tourism and the results archived in the commercial sector. In 2023, trade between Moldova and Japan increased, while the exports of Moldovan products to the Japanese market grew by 27%. Among the exported goods are textiles and wines, while among the imported goods are passenger transporting vehicles, agricultural and medical equipment.

According to the Prime Minister, Moldova’s participation in Expo Osaka 2025 will boost the promotion of “Made in Moldova” products on the Japanese market and will make Moldova’s business opportunities known better in the Japanese business community.
