The Government will negotiate a new fiscal policy memorandum with the IMF mission working in Chisinau since October 14. At a briefing, Prime Minister Vlad Filat said there are many opinions on this subject. According to him, the progressive taxation system used for companies would be the most appropriate for Moldova, Info-Prim Neo reports. “It is not right to tax an economic entity working in the production sector and a gambling business, a company with a dominant position and a newcomer in the same way,” Filat said. According to him, special attention should be paid to small and medium-sized companies, “We will exchange opinions with the IMF mission and I want to assure you that we will take into account not only the present and future situation, but will also analyze the impact of the policies at least three years ahead,” the Premier said. Vlad Filat also said that if the head of state is not elected on October 23, this fact will not influence the negotiations and the signing of a new cooperation program with the IMF as the Government is viable. But this will affect the country's development and image. The documents will be prepared for signing by October 26, when the value of the IMF's financial assistance could be discussed. Earlier, IMF officials and national experts said the assistance might be larger than that provided under the previous program completed in May this year.
