In anticipation of the European Parliament’s decision on the liberalization of the visa regime for Moldovans, Prime Minister Iurie Leanca reminded that only the passports with biometric passports will be able to travel without visas in the EU.
“We hope to receive goods news tomorrow (February 27). Biometric passports have been issued since 2011. Moldova’s embassies abroad started to issue such passports in 2012,” said the Premier, quoted by IPN.
Iurie Leanca also said that a term should be set, by the end of this year for example, for issuing biometric passports at lower prices to children under 12, to pensioners and other socially deprived groups.
