Prime Minister Pavel Filip on September 15 had a meeting with His Eminence Cardinal Secretary of State of the Holy See Pietro Parolin. The Prime Minister expressed his conviction that the relations between Moldova and the Holy Chair will further develop harmoniously, IPN reports.
“The objectives of the Republic of Moldova in relation to the Holy See envision the extension of bilateral contacts in multiple areas through the organization of high-level official visits, encouragement of the interreligious dialogue, development of the institutional partnership in the social, education and medical assistance spheres,” stated the Premier.
Pavel Filip said that this relationship for the Republic of Moldova is very important because moral stability should be maintained. It is much harder to overcome a moral crisis than an economic or political crisis.
“We are grateful to the Holy See for the things done to promote the values that are of vital importance for the whole mankind, I think. We follow and welcome and I’m glad that we have good, positive interreligious, inter-confessional relations in the Republic of Moldova and we do not face difficulties,” stated the Premier.
