Prime Minister Vlad Filat made an assessment of the dialogue between Moldova and the EU and the steps taken by Moldova to implement the European reform agenda in a meeting in Brussels. He met with Graham Watson, rapporteur on the Association Agreement with the EU on behalf of the European Parliament, and Joseph Daul, chairman of the Group of the European People’s Party in the European Parliament, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to a communiqué from the Government, the European officials said the election of the President of Moldova ensures the stability needed for the country to implement the initiated reforms. “The development of the Moldova-EU dialogue points to a high maturity level of the bilateral relations. We want to transform Moldova into a democratic state with a market economy that uses and multiplies the good practices of the European development model,” said the Moldovan Premier. The interlocutors underlined the progress made in negotiating the EU-Moldova Association Agreement. After ten rounds of talks, the discussions on all the subjects were provisionally closed. “The dynamic pace of the dialogue on visa liberalization with the EU is an important indicator of our relations in justice and internal affairs and of the Moldovan Government’s firm commitment to implement reforms in these areas,” stressed Vlad Filat. He asked the European officials to offer support in the process of liberalizing the visa regime, assuring that Moldova will continue to make effort to meet the conditions laid down in the EU-Moldova Action Plan. He invited MEPs Graham Watson and Joseph Daul to visit Moldova. Both of the officials accepted the invitation and the visits are to take place this summer or autumn.
