Prime Minister Chiril Gaburici instructed the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Finance and the Competition Council to analyze the increases in the prices of the main food and industrial products so as to ensure consumers’ protection, IPN reports.
“The fluctuations on the currency market, especially those witnessed last week, led to rises, mainly in the prices of domestic appliance and particular food products,” stated the Premier.
Chiril Gaburici noted a prompt reaction is needed so as to determine the correctness of the price rises. “The Ministry of Finance, by its fiscal body, the Competition Council and the Ministry of Economy must make use of legal instruments to protect the market from monopolists,” he said.
