The PAS and PPPDA MPs booed Prime Minister Ion Chicu when he started to present the Government’s report, criticizing the performance of the previous Government managed by PAS leader Maia Sandu. The MPs called Premier Cicu a liar, interrupting him for several times. Things didn’t calm down after the break as well, IPN reports.

When returning to Parliament, the MPs didn’t allow the official to continue to present his report. They demanded that the press should be allowed to attend even if Parliament Speaker Zinaida Grechanyi stated for several times that the sitting is broadcast live and anyone can watch it.

Update /3:50pm/ Premier Chicu could resume the presentation of the report after Zinaida Grechanyi proposed and the MPs voted, at the insistence of the opposition, allowing by an operator of each TV channel accredited to Parliament to have access to the assembly hall. The journalists were welcomed with applause when they came in. “We welcome the presence of the press and propose that they should be allowed to do their job,” urged Ion Chicu.

The motion of no confidence was proposed by the MPs of the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform” (PPPDA) on July 16, being countersigned by the MPs of the Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS).
