The Alliance of Orthodox Associations of Moldova demands that Prime Minister Vlad Filat should resign if he is not able to oppose the so-called Antidiscrimination Law, the amendments to the Law on Denominations and the registration of the Islamic League which, according to the members of the Alliance, are antihuman, Info-Prim Neo reports. In a news conference on Monday, the Alliance’s chairman Ghenadie Valuta said that Vlad Filat promised representatives of the Moldovan Metropolitan Church to set up joint commissions for reviewing the antidiscrimination bill, the Law on Denominations and the document legalizing the Islamic League, but in ten months said that such commissions are no longer necessary as the given documents had been revised. “He, consciously disappointing our hopes, became an adversary of the Orthodox Church of Moldova. Making promises in the election campaign and not fulfilling them means being a professional liar. The people now realize that they became the victims of corrupt profits,” said Ghenadie Valuta. He also said that the Government intends to ‘homosexualize’ the country at all costs by adopting the Antidiscrimination Law and then to legalize prostitution, arguing that they must control the phenomenon and need to collect incomes into the budget. “The Alliance is concerned about the Premier’s threats to adopt this law. We thus demand that he publicly apologize to the Christians for the unfulfilled promises, return to the negotiating table with the Orthodox Church, constitute the promised joint commissions, and follow the example of such countries as Poland, Greece and Estonia, which opposed such laws. If he is unable to do this, he should voluntarily vacate his seat for another person who is able to take the country out of the chaos,” said Ghenadie Valuta. The Alliance of Orthodox Associations of Moldova announced it will disseminate brochures to inform the people about the negative effect of these laws that are aimed against the Church and the Orthodox Christians. It calls on all the political forces to support the cause of the Orthodox Christians so as to make the authorities to abandon these bills. In the same news conference, Nicolae Parcevschi, head of the Independent Officers Union of Moldova, said that the most drastic measures should be taken against those who intend to ‘sodomize’ the country.
