The official Chisinau insists on keeping all the discussion platforms with Tiraspol existing in the Transnistrian conflict settlement process and expects that the talks in the 5+2 format will be resumed this spring, Prime Minister Pavel Filip said after the meeting of the governmental commission for reintegration, IPN reports.

“We underlined the key objective – to maintain the existing communication platforms. Another objective is to maintain stability in the Security Zone. Communication must exist here too. Another important objective is to continue the dialogue on all the major issues like the free movement of people and transport, the Dubasari farmers’ access to farmland and the problem of the Moldovan-administered, Romanian language schools,” stated the Premier.

The meeting also discussed the trade with the European Union and the ensuring of the Transnistrian companies’ access to the EU market. The Premier said there are no other problems besides those faced also by the economic entities from the right bank of the Nistru.

Pavel Filip reminded that he earlier had a discussion with OSCE experts. He will insist that a meeting in the 3+2 format, with the mediators and observers, should be held towards the end of March 1, while a meeting in the 5+2 format could be staged in April.

The Transnistrian conflict settlement talks in the 5+2 format have been stagnant since 2014.
