The Communists’ participation in the voting in of the Government was a success of the ruling alliance, considers Prime Minister Chiril Gaburici.

In the talk show “In depth” on PRO TV Chisinau channel, the Premier said that before his investiture, he had a discussion with heavyweights of the Party of Communists (PCRM), who imposed a number of conditions. “They demanded that I should not betray the national interests and should work for the country’s benefit. Their demands were patriotic in character. For me, the political color does not matter. If need be, I will go to all the parties to convince them to vote for particular laws of national importance,” he stated, quoted by IPN.

Chiril Gaburici admitted that he consults the leaders of the parties of the ruling alliance before taking decisions. “There is the Council of the alliance where the important issues are being discussed. I hadn’t been earlier involved in politics and do not have the necessary experience,” he stated.

As to reforms and the fight against corruption, the Premier said the European integration and the implementation of the Association Agreement with the EU represent Moldova’s development path. “Even if not much, things have changed. There is wish to make changes. There are foreign advisers at each of the ministries, who help us work out strategies. There is political will to also fight corruption. Regretfully, some of the functionaries put up resistance because they feel comfortable and do not want changes to take place,” said Chiril Gaburici.

He also said that he is ready to resign if he sees that he does not manage to achieve what he aimed. “I didn’t come to the Government for the sake of the seat. My goal is to work for this country and to do reforms,” he stated.
