Preliminary results of parliamentary elections in Romania

With over 99% of the votes cast in the parliamentary elections of Romania being counted, the preliminary results for the Chamber of Deputies at 8:30am show the PSD won 46.03% of the vote, PNL – 19.94%, USR – 8.54%, UDMR – 6.32%, ALDE – 5.66%, while PMP- 5.08%. The results of the Senate are as follows: PSD – 46.22%, PNL – 20%, USR – 8.60%, ALDE – 6%, UDMR – 6.31%, PMP – 5.36, IPN reports, quoting Mediafax.

In Romania, over 7 million people voted to elect the members of the Senate and Chamber of Deputies. The voter turnout was 39.49%.

The Moldovans who also possess Romanian nationality were the most active among the diaspora. More than 30,000 people voted in the Republic of Moldova, with over half of these in Chisinau.
