Preliminary results of new local elections held on Nov. 15

The Central Election Commission announced the preliminary results of the new local elections to choose councilors in Lingura village of Cantemir district and in Cosernita village of Criuleni district that took place on November 15, IPN reports.

According to the preliminary results, 565 of the 1,203 people with the right to vote cast their ballots in the councilor elections in Lingura. 264 persons (46%) voted for the candidates of the Democratic Party, while 200 people (35%) – for the candidates of the Liberal Democratic Party. The candidates of the Party of Communists and of the Liberal Party gained by 7% of the vote, while those of the European People’s Party of Moldova – 1.2%.

In Cosernita, the elections involved 561 of the 1,084 people eligible to vote. A number of 261 votes (47%) were for the candidates of the Party of Socialists, 240 votes (43%) – for the Democratic candidates, while 54 votes (9.7%) – for the Communist candidates.

When all the electoral data are brought together, the Central Election Commission will make public the final outcome of the new local elections.
