The pregnant woman will be allowed to be away from work for an unlimited period of time for medical examinations and consultations, without being penalized by the employer. The Cabinet approved a relevant amendment to the Labor Code on September 28, IPN reports.
According to the legislative initiative of Deputy Speaker of Parliament Liliana Palihovich, of the Liberal Democratic Party, the provision of free time to pregnant women for medical examinations and consultations will ultimately have a beneficial economic and social effect as conditions will be created for preventing and detecting disease at an incipient stage.
Thus, an article will be added to the Labor Code, which will say that the pregnant women are allowed to be away from work for prenatal medical examinations and consultations based on the written recommendation of the family doctor or specialist doctor, with their salary rights not being affected.
