A pregnant woman was transported to the hospital by a stretcher through snow piles. It happened in Comrat district, where the blizzard made the roads impassable and the ambulance team had to carry her on a stretcher a part of the road. The woman was taken to the Comrat District Hospital and her state of health is now stable.
Spokeswoman for the National Pre-Hospital Emergency Medicine Center Diana Blanaru has told IPN that the woman got sick and called an ambulance in the afternoon of January 8. An ambulance team of the medical assistance point of Congaz travelled to the woman’s village Kotovskoe, which is 17 kilometers away.
“The road was impassable. The ambulance covered only 5 kilometers and then contacted the local administration, which sent a tractor to clean the snow from the road. Meanwhile, the woman was taken by another car and this followed the tractor on the cleaned road. On the last 500 meters, the road could not be cleaned and a team of doctors carried the patient on a stretcher up to the main road, from where she was taken to the Comrat District Hospital in a stable state,” said Diana Blanaru.
According to the vice director of the Comrat District Hospital Feodor Bargan, the woman is under medical supervision and her state of health is satisfactory. She has yet time until delivery. “This is her first pregnancy and she got scared,” stated Feodor Bargan. According to him, the pregnant woman had false contractions, but she feels well and was discharged.
