“Prado Museum goes out”: open-air exhibition and Spanish films in Chisinau

An open-air exhibition titled “Prado Museum goes out” will be open to the public at the National Museum of History of Moldova in Chisinau during July 1-31 this year. The inhabitants and guests of Chisinau will be able to admire 22 of the most representative works of the Prado Museum. which is one of the main cultural institutions of Spain and one of the most important museums in the world, IPN reports, quoting the Embassy of Spain in Bucharest.

Among the exhibits that will be reproduced at a scale of 1:1 will be masterpieces by Goya, Velázquez, Rubens, Botticelli, Rembrandt and Hieronymus Bosch. The exhibition was earlier presented in multiple towns in Central and Southern America, the Philippines, the U.S., Spain and Romania and invites to a journey through the rich painting collections houses by the Prado Museum.



Also, the lovers of film in July will be able to see nine Spanish films grouped into short thematic cycles: comedies, classical films, films made by women, dramas and animated films. The films will be subtitled in Romanian and could be seen every weekend during July 3-31, starting at 9pm, in the yard of the National Museum of History of Moldova. Entrance is free of charge within the available places, by obeying the protection norms and maintaining social distancing.



The films form part of the stock of the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation of Spain and are presented with the support of the Cervantes Institute in Bucharest.

The two cultural events are organized by the Embassy of Spain in Bucharest in cooperation with the National Prado Museum in Madrid and with support from the National Museum of History of Moldova and the Honorary Consulate of Spain in Chisinau.
