The People’s Party of the Republic of Moldova (PPRM) joins the pro-Moldova demonstration organized by the Pro-European Coalition and calls on its members and supporters to express their support for Moldova’s European course, IPN reports.
The leader of the PPRM Alexandru Oleinic told a press briefing that Moldova’s European course is the most important commitment made by the Moldovan political class both to the people and to the development partners. The country’s future depends on the fulfillment of this commitment. Before the Vilnius Summit, the political class must show unity and responsibility.
According to Alexandru Oleinic, the EU’s offer is the most attractive for the country’s future. The support for the economic development, the energy independence, and the common labor market are objectives that can transform Moldova into a modern and civilized state.
The party’s leader also said that Europe’s opening to Moldova before the Vilnius Summit is a response to the people’s European option, not to the actions of the ruling political parties. “It’s not right to assume the merit for this important step in the accession process. Moreover, the ruling parties, for personal and party leaders, significantly slowed down Moldova’s accession pace,” said Alexandru Oleinic.
He urged the ruling parties to show political will and responsibility and to continue to take steps that are needed for signing the Association Agreement with the EU and obtaining a liberalized visa regime.
Alexandru Oleinic said he will take part in the pro-Moldova demonstration together with his family as citizens who want a country with a better future for the parents, children and grandchildren.
