Members and supporters of the Political Party “Our Party” (PPPN) in the morning of January 27 mounted a protest near a hotel in Chisinau, where a ceremony was held to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the creation of the prosecution service of the Republic of Moldova. These protested against the politicization of the state institutions, including the prosecution service, IPN reports.
The PPPN’s ex-candidate for President Dumitru Chubashenko told the journalists that during 25 years the Prosecutor General’s Office has turned into a criminal organization that fabricates political cases against the opponents of Plahotniuc and stages raider attacks.
The party’s deputy chairman Ilian Casu said the protesters are people who took attitude to the arbitrariness of the members of a state institution, namely the prosecution service that, in a captured state, fulfills the orders of the regime. The ceremony held in the hotel involved a prosecutor who hit a person several weeks ago, while the police fined this person. “This is one more proof that the police forgot that they must serve the people,” stated Casu.
