The Party “Dignity and Truth Platform” (PPPDA) decided to support one of the candidates running in the new parliamentary elections of March 15, stated MP Vasile Năstase. According to him, the party will support the mots upright and professional candidate.

“It is regrettable that those of the right could not identify a common candidate, as the PPPDA proposed, but this does not mean that the DA Platform will not support a candidate. An executive body of the DA Platform issued a statement, clearly saying that the party will analyze the profiles of all the registered candidates and will choose the most upright and professional candidate with European profile and will surely support this,” the MP was quoted by IPN as saying in the talk show “Emphasis on today” on TVR Moldova channel. Năstase noted the party is waiting to see all the candidates registered and will then make a choice.

Democratic MP Monica Babuc said she would like the candidate fielded by the Democratic Party for the elections in Hâncești to be supported by more pro-European parties. “Surely, we would like this to be the PDM’s representative who would maintain progress on the pro-European course of the Republic of Moldova and that trend aimed at strengthening the rule of law,” she stated.

PAS MP Lilian Carp said there were discussions inside the Action and Solidarity Party and the PPPDA as to the fielding of a common candidate for the new parliamentary elections in Hâncești constituency, but they didn’t produce results. He does not know what the leaders of the two parties discussed precisely, but noted that he will take part in the organization of the campaign, if need be. “I will surely become involved in this election campaign in Hâncești as regards the organization, if my help is sought, so that the fielded candidate achieves a good result,” he stated.

The CEC set new parliamentary elections in Hâncești for March 15 after Democratic MP Alexandru Botnari renounced the seat won in this constituency in favor of the post of mayor of the municipality of Hâncești in the November 3 runoffs.
