The Party “Dignity and Truth Platform” (PPPDA) by the end of this week will announce who it will support in the new parliamentary elections that will be held in single-member constituency No. 38 Hâncești on March 15. The party’s vice president Alexandru Slusari told a news conference that the PPPDA has two options – to support independent candidate Grigore Cobzac or the candidate of the Party “Action and Solidarity” (PAS) Olesea Stamate, IPN reports.
Alexandru Slusari said the PPPDA’s decision will be taken at the meeting of the party’s Political Bureau following consultations with the Hâncești local organization. Grigore Cobzac is the primary option of the PPPDA as this is from Hâncești and ran for this post on behalf of the ACUM Bloc in the parliamentary elections of February 24, 2019, where he obtained a good score. On the other hand, Olesea Stamate is also a good candidate.
“As our call to identify a common candidate wasn’t heard, we will support one of the two candidates who come from a partner party,” stated the MP.
The Electoral Council of the Hâncești Electoral District so far registered three candidates for MP. These are the Democrats’ candidate Ion Mereuță, the Party of Socialists’ candidate Ștefan Gaţcan and PAS candidate Olesea Stamate.
